Zubereitung/preparation:

  • Apfel, Zimt

I guess that there are different opinions on how to do the perfect porridge J. Let the water cook and add the oats, or put the oats in the water and bring them to cook? I do the latter. I also use a mixture of water and milk. If you like the porridge more liquid, add some more water, if you like it more creamy, then not. Mind to stir well with a wooden spoon otherwise the porridge will burn or cling to the bottom of the pot. Let cook until your porridge is as you like. Nice add on: Roast the oats in a dry pan, just a little bit, for more aroma.

For the oats there are some differences, too. The original steal cut oats are roughly cut oats, ours are squeezed. I use the bigger, more coarse kind, since I cannot find steal cut oats anywhere near.

No you can add you favorite flavours to it! My favorites are:

  • Yoghurt, nuts, honey
  • Berries, nuts, honey
  • apple, cinnamon
